Virgil Kaine, founded in 2011 by Charleston chefs Szlam and Ryan Meany, has released eight limited-edition whiskeys since its inception. Both of our teams have cut our teeth in the Charleston hospitality scene and navigated the distribution school of hard knocks. Those experiences are invaluable to our partnership.

It began when i studied hospitality management at the University of Crete. Gin is not for anyone. Then in 2011 we launched two new categories, like the Manhattan, and hot winter cocktails, such as Blazers and Hot Butter Rums. We caught up with founder Thanos Prunarus, asking him 15 questions, one for each incredible year.

Significantly she’s worked in distilling for 20 years, becoming Master Distiller De Kuyper Royal Distillers in 2011. In 2020 she was an inductee into the Hall of Fame at the World Gin Awards.
