In our first menu, for example, we had classic drinks, like the Brandy Crusta and Julep. And 2013 was our first time on the World’s 50 Best Bars list. A Daiquiri, but with an addition of a little bit of rum agricole and two or three dashes of aromatic bitters. Bringing them to life in Athens. And this is what we did.

Founded in 2001, Starlight initially made its mark with brandy, releasing its first commercial expression in 2004. A decade later, in 2013, the distillery turned its attention to bourbon. At the very end, burnt orange peel asserts itself, providing a sharp, slightly bitter close.

Founders Albert Peters, Edwin Pooley, and Edgar McClain began making fruit wine and brandies from the abundance of fruit in the region, taking only a brief hiatus to make industrial alcohol for the war effort. By the late 50s Hood River Distillers had begun blending and bottling spirits for distribution throughout the Pacific Northwest.
