The Balmoral , a Rocco Forte hotel in the heart of Edinburgh, has made its first venture into the publishing world with the release of ‘SCOTCH: The Balmoral Guide To Scotch Whisky’. The book was written by Cameron Ewen – Head Whisky Ambassador for The Balmoral’s SCOTCH whisky bar – and Moa Reynolds A.K.A.
The History of Islay and The Stent Book of Islay provide fascinating insights into the island’s history. The island, located on the Outer Hebrides, is famous for its smoky single malt scotch from distilleries such as Ardbeg , Bowmore , and Laphroaig. In the modern day, Islay is essentially a byword for peated whisky.
What piqued my curiosity even more was his backgroundbefore starting his distillery, Graeme had authored several whisky books, including one on the history of Ardbeg. At over 1,300 pages (or a staggering 62 hours in audiobook form), this is no ordinary book. Wind and Truth , the fifth installment in Brandon Sandersons monumental Stormlight Archive series, is finally here.
In this book, Thomas states the recipes for a Brandy Sour and a Gin Sour. The Whiskey Sour surged in popularity during Prohibition, which is as ironic as the publishing of a cocktail recipe book in 1922. The sour cocktail would have reached English shores around this time and eventually made its way to America.

Each Archival Series bottling focuses on a different illustration advert created by advertising director and designer David Holmes, presented in a folio-book style tin with an accompanying booklet. The ongoing Archival Series envisions a 24-bottle collection commemorating the Macallan advertising campaigns from the 1970s to the 1990s.
