Sorry Mrs. Jamson Red wine and Autumn are a perfect pairing. On November 14, celebrate National Tempranillo Day with a cocktail highlighting this full-bodied wine. It’s the best drink for those who typically choose a glass of wine but want to switch things up for something colorful and flavorful.
Some of the worlds most iconic cocktails employ whiskey as their base liquor. But there are many other whiskey cocktails, many with historic roots, that have enjoyed a quiet revival along with the boom of craft cocktail culture. So we tapped 12 bartenders to find out which whiskey cocktails they felt werent getting enough accolades.
Today we’re looking at two of these — release #8, finished in Inniskillin Ice Wine casks, and release #6, finished in Japanese mizunara oak. Both seem to start with standard Writers’ Tears whiskey as their base — a blend of pot still and single malt — though the bottling proof of each whiskey varies.
